EXCITING THINGS ON THE HORIZON

We are thrilled to announce our 2nd season, and our first 'full' one, which features plays exclusively by female playwrights.

This season kicks off with HOLY DAYS in November as we begin planting "FRESH PRODUCE," our new Concert Play Reading Series.

In January, we launch the first of two fully staged productions with BRILLIANT TRACES featuring popular Des Moines-area actors and community leaders Jami Bassman Ahart and Tom Ahart.

HOW'S THE WEATHER?  These days it's perplexing.  In addition to the catastrophes and havoc, compelling stories about individuals and their relationships are often buried in the muck.  Or drowned.  We are pleased to share two of these stories this season.  Brilliant Traces takes us inside an isolated cabin in the woods during a raging blizzard, and examines the two people who are forced, by isolation and danger, to sort out a relationship.  Atlas of Mud finds the world completely flooded in a mysterious near-future.  The handful of survivors living in boats must fight for everything--food, dignity, space--as they strain to hold on to love, family, and grace.  Don't miss these exciting journeys!

A CONCERT READING SERIES focused on new works, new looks at old works, and, most importantly, an ever-widening range of voices that speak to the Midwestern experience.  Just as professional and compelling; slightly more economical than our major productions.  Don't miss these!

"Concert Reading?  What's That?
Using lecterns, a stage-directions narrator, and no technical elements, these readings focus entirely on the story and the actors--literally, the play's voices.
