SEASON 3
2020-2021

WITH HOPE
AND A PLAN

We joined theatres across the globe when the Covid-19 pandemic brought a premature end to our second season, but we are still committed to bringing compelling stories to Midwestern audiences. With safety, flexibility, and innovation at the forefront of our planning, we commit to season 3 with hope and a plan!

Including two projects carried over from Season 2, this season features four plays presented for free in our popular Fresh Produce Concert Reading Series, and ends with Atlas of Mud, a fully-staged production, in Spring '21.

SEASON 2
2019-2020
2019-2020 marked our first full season of plays and the launch of our Fresh Produce Concert Reading series to notable success. Each of the originally programmed five Season 2 plays were written by female playwrights and we were pleased to bring three projects to Midwest audiences before the COVID-19 epidemic abruptly ended theatre seasons across the globe.

THE BEGINNING
2019
After beginning work in 2018, TheatreMidwest officially launched our brand new company with this production of The Friendly Hour by Tom Jacobson. We surpassed our Kickstarter campaign goals with tremendous community support, received press interest and critical success for the production, and were recognized by the Des Moines theatre community with several nominations for Cloris Leachman Excellence in Theatre Arts Awards, including Best Featured Actress recipient, Deidra Mohr.
