COVID-19 UPDATE (3/23/20)
We hope you all are doing well and staying safe out there! As we continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation, we want to communicate with our patrons and followers on the status of our current projects.
- We are exploring alternate formats, timelines, and logistics for bringing our two compelling projects to our patrons in as interesting a fashion as circumstances allow.
- The Fresh Produce concert reading of Stripped (both 3/31 in DSM and 4/4 in Omaha) is postponed until further notice.
Atlas of Mud production is looking less and less likely to open on 5/1 as originally scheduled. We will make a final decision on that no later than 4/4 and inform you about alternate scheduling or format options as soon as we are able.
- All in-person rehearsals through 4/4 are suspended.
- Any meetings by production staff are being held via phone or video chat for the time being.
Obviously these are uncharted territories, but we remain committed to our mission of creating works of relevance to the people of the Midwestern North America, with particular attention to the voices of women and other under-represented groups. But we will only present these when conditions are appropriate and safe for our company, our patrons, and our community.
Our leadership team will be monitoring the situation and continually evaluating our plan of action for upcoming projects. Please stay tuned for updates as we navigate these difficult circumstances by following this page or visiting our website at theatremidwest.org. Questions or concerns can be emailed to [email protected].
As always, thank you for your continued support!

WELCOME! |
Launched in 2018, TheatreMidwest is a professional theatre company with some radical goals for changing theatre in the Heartland.
|
OUR MISSION: |
We are professionals creating works of relevance to the people of Midwest North America, with particular attention to the works of women and other under-represented groups.
|
Up Next:
PERFORMANCES: Postponed until further notice.
|
In present-day Omaha, a young woman juggles tragedy, personal demons, and her dysfunctional family, while working in a seedy strip club to help cover costs associated with her brother’s terminal illness.
|
PERFORMANCES: Postponed until further notice.
|
Ten years after the world flooded and people fled to the boats, the desperation to find land has become lethal but the satellites still see nothing but water. Guarded by the military, one boat holds special cargo: seeds to plant when land is found, birds to find the land, and a child called Mud. A mythical allegory about finding hope in a world turned unrecognizable.
